DENTAL HYGIENIST

Responsibilities
- Coordinate and provide optimal services to clinic patients, with a special focus on preventative care, under the direct supervision of the Dentist.
- Perform basic dental care tasks primarily focused on keeping the patient’s teeth and gums healthy and clean.
- Educate patients and their caregivers on proper dental hygiene practices and techniques.
- Collaborate with a dynamic, patient-centered dental team under the supervision of our dentists, working together to promote healthy smiles and lasting wellness.

- Communicate warmly, provide culturally responsive support, and foster trusting relationships.
Requirements
- Must have Dental Hygiene degree and must be licensed to practice hygiene in the State of Ohio.
- Must maintain the appropriate continuing education requirements as established by the State Board of Dental Examiners.
- Must have BLS certification.
Skills and Education
- Must have proficient computer skills and the ability to become proficient in software programs specific to LCH&D i.e. NextGen, EPM, EHR, etc.
- Must have the skill and credibility to serve as a patient advocate and be a role model for change.
- Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor and communicate enthusiastically with patients.
- Ability to be responsive in working with a culturally-diverse patient population.
- Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to master a therapeutic communication approach.
- Ability to independently coordinate multiple tasks.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Bilingual Spanish speaking is a plus.
