Dental Hygienist
Responsibilities
- Performs Essential Dental Hygiene duties as defined in ORS 679.010
- Properly exposes, processes, and mounts oral radiographs
- Properly reviews health history from a patient
- Educates patient to oral health care needs
- Affords assistance with other clinic responsibilities as needed
- Performs periodontal probing’s and record findings
- Provides appropriate periodontal services as treatment planned by the dentist
- Applies fluoride and sealants
- Administers local anesthetic agents
Requirements
- Must possess a degree from an accredited school of Dental Hygiene
- Current license to practice hygiene in the State of Oregon
- Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
- Skilled at using electronic health records as applicable to area of work (EPIC, EagleSoft)
- Preferred: Expanded Practice Dental Hygiene Permit, Nitrous Oxide Permit, Three to five years of experience in Dental field, Experience working in community health, Basic knowledge of adult learning models

- Skilled at intervening and promoting reconciliation, compromise and positive outcomes in difficult interactions
Skills

- Expanded Practice - $46.00 - $60.00
- Non-Expanded Practice - $40.00- $48.00
