Dental Hygienist
Heck Family Dentistry is looking for a full-time Dental Hygienist to join our team in Lawrence, Kansas. We need someone who can provide excellent clinical care while also creating a calm, comfortable experience that keeps patients coming back, especially for those who may be nervous or anxious about dental care.
Pay, Schedule & Benefits
- $40–$45 per hour, based on experience

Our hygienists play an important role in prevention, periodontal health, patient education, treatment conversations, and helping patients feel confident about their dental care.
Heck Family Dentistry provides everything from routine preventive care to advanced restorative treatment, implants, cosmetic dentistry, and multiple sedation options, with a particular focus on creating a comfortable experience for patients with dental fear and anxiety.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive preventive dental hygiene care
- Perform adult and pediatric prophylaxis
- Complete periodontal assessments and charting
- Provide scaling and root planing when indicated
- Take diagnostic dental x-rays
- Educate patients about periodontal health, home care, and preventive treatment
- Help patients understand recommended care
- Partner closely with our dentists and clinical team
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Follow infection control and safety standards
- Create a calm and comfortable experience for patients, including those with dental anxiety
Requirements
- Active Kansas Dental Hygienist license
- Strong clinical hygiene skills
- Excellent patient communication
- Gentle, confident, and compassionate chairside manner
- Ability to make anxious patients feel comfortable
- Reliable and organized
- Strong attention to detail
- Team-oriented approach
- Commitment to patient education and prevention
- Comfortable working in a comprehensive dental practice
