At Childrens Dental Care, an office within Dental Associates of Connecticut, our mission is to provide quality dental and personal care to all our patients in a relaxed and comfortable environment where patients feel welcomed, accepted, secure, and confident in the care they are receiving. We employ dentists in the specialties of general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, and prosthodontics. Responsibilities

• Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, application of fluoride and sealants
• Detect disease by completing oral cancer screening; feeling and visually examining gums, using probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession
• Select appropriate materials and equipment for dental hygiene visits by evaluating patient's oral health
• Educate patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions
• Document dental hygiene services by recording vital signs, medical and dental histories, and charting in patient charts
• Take x-rays as necessary and as recommended by the ADA

Requirements

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Prioritization of tasks and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Proven ability to follow outlined policies and guidelines
• Possess a professional and positive attitude
• Associate’s degree from an accredited dental hygiene program
• Valid license to practice in Connecticut (Registered Dental Hygienist, RDH)
• Available to work within current office hours, specific shifts to be determined: [LOCATION NAME]

• Preferred qualifications include dental office experience and Dentrix Ascend software experience
