DENTAL HYGIENIST

About the role

This employee performs oral prophylaxis, provides oral health instructions, exposes and processes radiographs, maintains a recall system, and participates in community outreach programs for a dental clinic. Performs related duties as required.

Responsibilities

Pay

Competitive salaries are offered for this full-time 40 hour per week Dental Hygienist position.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is 40 hours per week.

Required Education and Experience

• Licensed to practice dental hygiene in the State of Ohio.

Other Requirements

• Show evidence of immunity to or inoculation against the hepatitis B virus.

Working and Physical Conditions

• Examples of work performed include removing supra- and sub-gingival calcareous deposits and polishing clinical crowns of teeth.
• Performing periodontal scaling, soft tissue curettage, and root planing when indicated.
• Providing oral hygiene instructions.
• Exposing, processing, and mounting dental radiographs.
• Providing topical applications of fluorides.
• Maintaining equipment and dental operatory.
• Completing restorative and periodontal dental charting.
• Maintaining a recall system and confirming patient appointments.
• Participating in outreach programs for community education.
• Assisting dentist in the absence of an assistant.
• Preparing reports for the Associate Director of Dental Services.

Probationary Period
