Dental Hygienist

About the role

Darien Family Dental, part of Dental Associates of Connecticut, aims to provide quality dental and personal care in a welcoming environment. The office employs specialists in various dental fields and seeks a full-time Dental Hygienist.

Responsibilities

• Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, fluoride application, and sealant application
• Detect disease through oral cancer screenings, gum probing, and assessment of recession levels
• Select appropriate materials and equipment based on patient's oral health needs
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative care
• Document services by recording vital signs, medical and dental histories, and charting in patient records
• Ensure sterilization of equipment
• Take x-rays as needed and recommended by the ADA

Requirements

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to follow outlined policies and guidelines
• Professional and positive attitude
• Associate’s degree from an accredited dental hygiene program
• Valid license to practice in Connecticut (RDH)
• Availability to work within current office hours, specific shifts to be determined

Qualifications

• Dental office experience
• Dentrix Ascend software experience (preferred)
