Dental Hygienist

We are currently seeking a Part-time Dental Hygienist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a team player, and share our commitment to patient satisfaction. Responsibilities

• Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planning, application of fluoride and sealants
• Detect disease by completing oral cancer screening, examining gums visually and tactilely, and using probes to locate periodontal disease and assess recession levels
• Select materials and equipment for dental hygiene visits based on patient’s oral health
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative care
• Document dental hygiene services, including vital signs, medical and dental histories, and charting in patient records
• Sterilize equipment and take x-rays as necessary, following ADA recommendations

Requirements

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to follow outlined policies and guidelines
• Professional and positive attitude
• Associate’s degree from an accredited dental hygiene program
• Valid license to practice in Connecticut (Registered Dental Hygienist, RDH)
• Availability to work within current office hours:
  • Monday: 7:30am - 6pm
  • Wednesday: 7:30am - 5pm
  • One Saturday per month: 7:30am - 12pm

Preferred Qualities

• Dental office experience
• Experience with Dentrix Ascend software

Pay

$42-$48/hour
