Dental Assistant/Trainer
About the role
Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in multiple counties including Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia, and Westchester. We are currently seeking a full-time Dental Assistant/Trainer to join our team in Beacon, NY and support the Hudson Valley region.
Responsibilities
- Maintains supplies and instruments in dental operatory
- Maintains dental laboratory, processes instruments, and monitors lab cases
- Processes pouring impressions and storing cases
- Monitors curing light usage monthly
- Maintains water lines and follows DUWL protocol
- Prepares and submits health specialty referrals and predeterminations
- Aids dentists/hygienists with patient care
- Reassigns to other dental sites when needed
- Provides oversight of dental staff and reports issues
- Orients and trains new dental support staff
Requirements
- High School diploma/GED and vocational/technical school/diploma program in Dental Assisting
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (oral and written)
Qualifications
Essential duties and responsibilities include maintaining supplies and instruments, managing dental laboratory tasks, assisting with patient care, and training new staff. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills
The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Proficiency in dental terminology and procedures is also required.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $22.00 - $25.47 per hour, with a sign-on bonus of $1,500.
Schedule
The Dental Assistant/Trainer works full-time and may be required to travel to other sites within the Hudson Valley region to cover short-term shortages of support staff.
