About the role

Tanasbourne Dental Office is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the delivery of dental care and services within a Kaiser Permanente dental office. Relocation assistance is available.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all duties consistent with training and in the presence of or under the observation of a licensed provider.
  • Supports non-orthodontic dentists by performing tasks such as preliminary band selection and sizing, removing fixed orthodontic appliances, checking for loose bands and brackets, and removing ligature ties and head appliances.
  • Assists in the preparation and organization of patients' dental records, greeting and introducing patients, and answering their questions.
  • Communicates with providers to ensure proper scheduling and flow of patients.
  • Prepares, arranges, and passes dental instruments, supplies, and materials as needed.
  • Ensures a clean and organized work environment and maintains equipment through preventive maintenance.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned, demonstrating competence in four-handed dentistry, current dental materials, instruments, and equipment, and professional conduct.

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience as a dental assistant or graduate from an ADA accredited dental assisting program.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED).
  • Dental Radiation Proficiency Certificate (Oregon).
  • Pit and Fissure Sealant Certificate (Oregon).
  • Expanded Function Dental Assistant Certificate (Oregon).
  • Basic Life Support certification within three (3) months of hire.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated competence in four-handed dentistry technique.
  • Satisfactory knowledge and proficiency in use of current dental materials, instruments, and equipment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under both direct and indirect supervision.
  • Well-organized in use of time and effort.
  • Professionally courteous when interacting with patients, providers, and other employees.
  • Excellent attendance record.

Skills

  • Knowledge of sterilization and infection control equipment.
