Dental Assistant - Surgical

About the role

At ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers, you'll have the opportunity to support oral surgeons and prosthodontists during life-changing dental implant procedures. This role is part of a supportive, mission-driven culture focused on patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance to oral surgeons and prosthodontists during surgical and implant procedures
• Anticipate clinician needs and maintain a clear, organized treatment area
• Assist with administration and documentation of local anesthesia, nitrous sedation, and IV sedation procedures
• Ensure patient comfort, monitor well-being, and educate them on pre- and post-operative care
• Prepare, sterilize, and set up instruments and surgical trays, following strict infection control protocols
• Take dental x-rays and prepare materials for impressions, as directed
• Avoid medical clearances and patient record management
• Support office operations by scheduling, greeting patients, and managing supplies when needed
• Collaborate closely with the surgical and prosthetic teams to ensure seamless patient care

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Surgical Assistant required
• Valid certifications that meet applicable state requirements
• Strong manual dexterity and ability to handle surgical instruments with precision
• Self-starter mentality with excellent focus on patient safety and care
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current CPR certification
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
• Current Certified Oral Surgery Assistant (COA) certification (or equivalent)

Pay

$30 – $35 per hour (based on experience and certification)
