Dental Assistant Instructor - Norfolk, VA

About the role

Norfolk Dental Assistant School is hiring a Part-Time Dental Assistant Instructor for our ongoing 12-week hands-on clinical training programs. Located in Norfolk, VA (in‑person). Responsibilities

• Demonstrate chairside procedures and clinical techniques
• Teach radiology fundamentals and safety protocols
• Coach students during hands‑on lab practice
• Provide performance feedback and skills assessments
• Maintain infection control and classroom safety standards
• Foster a supportive, structured learning environment

Requirements

• 5+ years of dental assisting or chairside experience (DA, RDA, or EFDA)
• Active Radiology Certification
• CPR/BLS Certification
• Strong communicator: able to explain clinical procedures clearly to learners with no prior experience
• Able to commute to the Norfolk, VA location

Qualifications

• Prior teaching or mentoring experience (nice‑to‑have)
• Familiarity with Dentrix (nice‑to‑have)
• Leadership background (nice‑to‑have)

Pay

$21–$24 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

Saturdays, 7:00 am – 6:15 pm (breaks included). Teaching schedule may vary based on morning and/or afternoon class availability.
