The Registered Dental Assistant II is responsible for performing core dental duties including coronal polishing, temporary crown fabrication, impressions, pit and fissure sealants, and assisting during procedures. Key responsibilities include chairside support, patient rooming, sterilization, taking x-rays, patient education, and maintaining treatment records. The role involves setup and breakdown of operatory rooms, patient seating and dismissing, and providing excellent patient care and comfort. Additional duties encompass administrative support such as scheduling, billing, and tracking lab cases, as well as assisting with training new assistants. Qualifications include a high school diploma, one year of RDA experience, and valid RDA license. Certification in Dental Practice Act, Infection Control, BLS, Radiation Safety, and Sealants is required. Skills needed include professionalism, teamwork, proficiency with electronic records and MS Office, multitasking, communication, and physical ability to lift 20 pounds and stand for extended periods. Work environment is clinical, with exposure to bodily fluids, chemicals, and potential contact with individuals in crisis, requiring adherence to safety and health policies.
