Responsibilities

  • Assists the dentist in providing dental treatment
  • Functions as a treatment coordinator and prepares/presents treatment plans to patients
  • Schedules patient appointments while accommodating potential obstacles
  • Maintains dental instruments, supplies, and equipment
  • Collects and records patient health histories
  • Assists with patient management during dental procedures
  • Completes instrument cleaning, sterilization, and post-op sanitization of treatment rooms
  • Prepares dental materials and equipment for scheduled treatments
  • Completes dental charting
  • Manages inventory supply and performs ancillary duties

Requirements

  • Dental Assistant training or equivalent
  • Preferred 2-5 years of Dental Assistant experience
  • Achieved CDA certification, or completed radiological equivalency exam through NC State Board of Dental Examiners, or completed CODA-accredited dental assisting program
  • CPR certified (or willing to become certified within 30 days of hire)
  • Ability to professionally present clinical and insurance information to patients
  • Knowledge of Eaglesoft and/or Denticon software is a plus
  • Regular and timely attendance
  • Independent thinking, good judgment, and ability to implement operating practices
  • Teamwork approach to job responsibilities
  • Initiative, dependability, and promptness
  • Flexibility to accept different work assignments, including traveling to other locations, with a positive approach
  • Ability to follow instructions and take responsibility for actions
  • Confidentiality with patients and patient care
  • Attentive listening for clarification to ensure necessary outcomes

  • Ability to read and interpret documents (safety rules, procedure manuals, written correspondence)
  • Problem-solving in situations with limited standardization
  • Interpreting instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Frequent repetitive work with attention to detail

Schedule

Full-time, Monday–Thursday.
