About the role
We are seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to support our dentists and ensure efficient operation of our dental practice.
Responsibilities
- Preparing exam rooms, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring necessary equipment is ready for dentists
- Assisting dentists during procedures by handing them instruments and anticipating needs
- Taking and processing X-rays of patients
- Performing lab tasks as instructed
- Greeting patients as they arrive and scheduling appointments
- Advising patients on recommended oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Maintaining accurate patient records and assisting with payment procedures
- Handling general administrative duties to maintain the dental practice
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a dental assistant
- Completion of a certified dental assistant training program
- Radiographic certification required
- Coronal Polishing certification is a plus, but not required
- 18 months or more of clinical experience as a dental assistant
Skills
- Knowledge of general anatomy of the mouth and dental terms
- Understanding of crowns, fillings, extractions, root canals, and implants
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Outstanding professionalism, high moral standards, and a self-motivated work ethic
- Driven personality with a commitment to providing the best patient care
- Positive team player attitude
