Responsibilities

  • Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
  • Explaining office procedures before treatment to patients.
  • Providing quality and compassionate care to every patient before, during and after dental treatment.
  • Patient management during dental procedures.
  • Dental charting of patient's pre-existing and accurate inputting of patient progress notes.
  • Providing patients with post-op instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling).
  • Taking impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth).
  • Preparing and maintaining dental instruments, supplies and equipment.
  • Taking and developing x-rays, collecting and recording patient health histories.
  • Serving as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment.
  • Monitoring equipment and hand piece repairs for all operatory equipment, accurate completion and follow up of repair logs.
  • Completing daily/weekly/monthly tasks including autoclave testing and cleaning of traps.
  • Aiding in monthly supply orders.
  • Assisting with monthly recall and treatment plan reports, when requested.
  • Responsible for adhering to all government and company regulations.
  • Helping to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including pediatric dentistry and oral surgery.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a customer service environment and good computer skills are necessary.
  • An upbeat attitude and outgoing personality are a MUST to succeed in this position.
  • Ability to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks.
  • A people person/team player.
  • Required Dental Assistant certification.
  • Must possess great chair side manners.
  • Ability to adapt to different needs and techniques.
  • An individual who can work under pressure and strives to advance.
  • An individual who adheres to policies and procedures.
  • Bilinguals are a plus!

Pay

Salary is based on experience.

Schedule

Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm schedule
