Dental Assistant, EFDA (Sandy Dental Clinic)
About the role
Clackamas County's Health Centers Division is seeking an enthusiastic, Patient-centered Expanded Practice Dental Assistant, EFDA to join our Dental Program.
Responsibilities
- Partner with dentists and dental hygienists to deliver high quality clinical care and oral health education that improves the health and well-being of our community.
- Provide chairside and expanded function dental assistance, educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive care, and help ensure an exceptional patient experience.
- Support the daily operations of the clinic by maintaining accurate dental records, scheduling appointments, managing supplies, and contributing to an efficient, collaborative clinical environment.
Requirements
- Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification as provided in OAR 818-042-0080, including a certification of radiologic proficiency, issued by the Oregon State Board of Dental Examiners (must have upon hire).
- Sealant certification, issued by the Oregon State Board of Dental Examiners within six months of hire (certification costs are employer paid).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate (must be certified at time of employment & during employment).
Preferred Qualifications/Transferrable Skills
- Epic Wisdom experience.
- Experience working with Medicaid coverage.
- Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
- Experience as a chairside dental assistant.
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Must pass post-offer, pre-employment drug test.
- Must pass a criminal history check which may include national or state fingerprint records check.
- Driving is required for County business on a regular basis or to accomplish work. Incumbents must possess a valid driver's license, and possess and maintain an acceptable driving record throughout the course of employment.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time, 40-hours-per-week position with a standard Monday through Friday work schedule. The Sandy Dental Clinic is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. The typical schedule consists of four (4) days per week from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and one (1) day per week from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Schedule may vary based on operational needs.

Clackamas County Health Centers provide direct medical, dental, and mental health services to Clackamas County residents. We provide services at our Integrated Primary Health Care Clinics, our mental health clinics, or through our School Based Health Centers.
