Dental Assistant

Position Highlights

• 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week)
• EMR system is EPIC
• $22.29-$32.83/hour DOE
• Additional pay for bilingual skills ($5,000.00)
• Hiring/Retention Bonus Structure: $1,500.00 at Hire, $2,000.00 at 180 days, $1,500.00 at 12 months

What You’ll Do

• Maintain patient medical records
• Conduct complete patient X-ray procedures
• Develop and store X-rays in the electronic dental record
• Prepare and set up instruments and equipment
• Mix materials needed for exams
• Perform preventative periodontal care
• Provide oral hygiene education
• Assist in infection control program
• Perform clinical responsibilities aligned with TJC, HRSA, and YVFWC requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire
• Registration as a Surgical Technologist if assisting a Dentist in the operating room
• Registered Dental Assistant or EFDA certification
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred at a level 10
• Basic knowledge of medical/dental terminology and dental anatomy
• Basic knowledge of dental materials and instruments
• Basic knowledge of infection control techniques
• Basic knowledge of oral health care instruction
• Strong manual dexterity and coordination
• Ability to interact professionally with a variety of patients and employees
• Basic proficiency with computer programs including EDR, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
