As a Dental Assistant, you'll play a hands-on role in supporting patient care and ensuring smooth, efficient dental operations. Working under the supervision of the Dentist, you'll assist in providing dental care while maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organized clinical environment. Facility: Martinsburg Correctional Center. Location: Martinsburg, WV 25405. You'll go beyond assisting. You'll help create a smooth, supportive experience that keeps patient care moving forward.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the dentist chair-side during exams and procedures
- Preparing patients for treatment and supporting dental hygiene education
- Sterilizing instruments and maintaining infection control standards
- Setting up and breaking down treatment areas and equipment
- Taking and processing intra-oral x-rays as permitted
- Maintaining accurate patient records within the medical record system
- Managing dental supplies, inventory, and equipment maintenance
- Supporting dental sick call and emergency screenings
- Ensuring the dental clinic remains clean, stocked, and ready for daily operations
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required
- CPR certification required
Qualifications
- Experience working in a dental setting and/or correctional health care preferred
- Dental certification preferred
