About the role
Since 1970, Salud has been committed to providing a Medical Home to patients, where medical, dental, behavioral health services, and clinical pharmacists work together and coordinate efforts in a team-based system of care. We strive to improve the quality of our patient's lives who would otherwise have limited access to health care. We serve all individuals regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay.
Responsibilities
- Treats patients with the utmost respect and concern for their physical, emotional, and mental well-being
- Instills a fun and vibrant atmosphere bringing smiles to all who enter our doors
- Prepares the treatment room
- Maintains the schedule and ensures the team is sticking to it
- Interacts with patients before, during, and after procedures
- Assists the dentist chairside
Requirements
- Previous dental assistant experience is desired, but not required
- Graduation from high school or equivalent
- No licensure or certification is needed to be hired
- Radiology certification through a state-approved program
- Completion of Salud Family Health Center Ladder’s program and Registered Dental Assistant Program certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous dental assistant experience is desired, but not required
- Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent
- Licensure/Certification: No licensure or certification is needed to be hired
- Radiology certification through a state-approved program
- Completion of Salud Family Health Center Ladder’s program and Registered Dental Assistant Program certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Must work well with the other patient care team members
- Must have an ability and willingness to learn
- Must have a desire to expand abilities
- Must have an ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Must have an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and staff
- Sensitivity to low-income and ethnic minority communities is a must
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

$21 to $26.50 per hour

Monday to Friday – 8 am to 5 pm
