About the Role
The Reno-Sparks Indian Colony (RSIC) is a federally recognized tribal government dedicated to the economic and social advancement of its people. Established in the early 1900s and formally recognized under the Indian Reorganization Act of 1934, the RSIC represents over 1,100 members of the Paiute, Shoshone, and Washoe Tribes—Three Tribes, One Nation. Our lands include the original 28-acre Colony in central west Reno and a 1,920-acre community in Hungry Valley, located 19 miles north of the Colony in the scenic Eagle Canyon region of Nevada. The RSIC is a vibrant and growing organization that honors traditional teachings and cultural heritage while embracing modern business practices and innovative governance. We employ over 300 individuals, including more than 150 tribal members, and are committed to fostering a professional work environment that encourages talent, motivation, and career development.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and prepare them for treatment
- Manage instruments and record vital information during procedures
- Engage in patient education
- Maintain dental equipment and supplies
- Document services in patient records
- Collaborate in a team-oriented environment
Requirements
- Graduate from a fully accredited Dental Assisting program or have at least 5 years of relevant experience with at least 6,000 hours of chairside assistance
- Certified in Dental Radiology through graduation from an accredited Dental Assisting program or through “on-the-job” training within the last year at the time of hire
- Current CPR/BLS certificate prior to date of hire
- Computer literate and willing to be trained on new software as needed
- Self-motivated individual with good interpersonal skills
- Comfortable in a diverse minority environment
- Evidence of a recent negative TB test or appropriate documentation from a physician confirming freedom from TB
Qualifications
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
