Responsibilities
- Assists the dentist and hygienists in chair-side procedures.
- Prepares and sets up instruments, materials, and equipment for each procedure.
- Ensures sterilization of instruments and cleaning of equipment and work areas.
- Schedules patients and accurately records information in patient records.
- Supports the dental patient services representative.
- Exhibits positive leadership skills and communicates effectively with staff and patients.
- Assists in processing encounters and identifying related medical or social problems.
- Maintains inventory of supplies and materials and documents inventory thoroughly.
- Trains new Dental Assistants.
Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and administrative management experience.
- Working knowledge of FQHC dental clinic operations, including patient care protocols, quality control regulations, policies, procedures, billing, insurances, inventory control, etc.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Acquires nitrous oxide certification within 6-9 months of employment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Previous dental experience desired but not required.
