Responsibilities

• Assists the dentist and hygienists in chair-side procedures.
• Prepares and sets up instruments, materials, and equipment for each procedure.
• Ensures sterilization of instruments and cleaning of equipment and work areas.
• Schedules patients and accurately records information in patient records.
• Supports the dental patient services representative.
• Exhibits positive leadership skills and communicates effectively with staff and patients.
• Assists in processing encounters and identifying related medical or social problems.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and materials and documents inventory thoroughly.
• Trains new Dental Assistants.

Requirements

• Excellent interpersonal and administrative management experience.
• Working knowledge of FQHC dental clinic operations, including patient care protocols, quality control regulations, policies, procedures, billing, insurances, inventory control, etc.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Acquires nitrous oxide certification within 6-9 months of employment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Previous dental experience desired but not required.
