About the Role
Nevada Dental Benefits Ltd. is seeking a full-time dental assistant to support the delivery of patient-centered care in our Las Vegas, NV office. We are a team of health professionals motivated by providing excellent care and customer service, and we're looking for a dental assistant who has a desire to motivate patients and encourage excellent oral health as an important part of overall health and wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the operatory appropriately for exams or dental procedures.
- Prepare the patient for their visit with the dentist while offering excellent customer service.
- Assist the dentist chairside.
- Deliver patient education about disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment as directed by the dentist or hygienist.
- Assist with caries management protocols, including providing fluoride treatment and individualized oral hygiene instructions and patient education.
- Expose and scan radiographs as prescribed by the attending dentist.
- Perform lab work as assigned.
- Document appropriate clinical notes in the electronic health record.
- Assist with disease management projects as assigned, which may include participation in Health Fairs or patient outreach.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Attending Dentist, Chief Clinical Officer, or Dental Practice Manager.
Compliance
- Compliance with CDC guidelines for infection control and instrument processing.
- Compliance with office OSHA protocols, including the Blood Borne Pathogens Standard.
Requirements
- Two years of Dental Assistant experience.
- Certificate from an accredited dental assisting program.
- CPR Certification.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
Preferred Qualifications
- Practice Management Software experience.
