About the Role

We are seeking an experienced DAI or DAII to join our growing team in Salisbury, NC. In this role, you will assist with quality dental care and associated services to patients under the general supervision of a dentist, collaborating in a team environment to perform a variety of patient care and clinical duties.

Responsibilities

  • Review the schedule frequently to maximize time management.
  • Welcome patients and parents, introducing them to the clinic area.
  • Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
  • Review treatment needed and answer questions prior to starting procedures.
  • Complete all treatment consents, including re-care and op sheets.
  • Perform routine dental cleanings.
  • Plan for the next visit prior to patient walk-out.
  • Review charts daily to check x-rays, clinical notes, and frequency limitations for patients.
  • Maintain adequate supplies and compile lists for Clinical Coordinator inventory control and ordering.
  • Educate parents and patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs.
  • Monitor nitrous oxide administration.
  • Sterilize and deliver instruments to treatment areas; position instruments for dentist’s access; suction; pass instruments; stock supplies; write clinical notes; and perform other clinical tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and OSHA standards.
  • Maintain care of units (flush lines, fill water bottles, place tablets in water, change traps).
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly duties as outlined in the OSHA Manual.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED certificate.
  • Successful completion of a dental assistant program as per state guidelines.
  • Dental x-ray certification.
  • Coronal Polishing Certification.
  • Additional certification such as nitrous oxide monitoring is desired but not required.
