Dental Assistant

Responsibilities

• Preparing patients for dental procedures
• Aiding patients with treatments
• Maintaining patient dental records
• Coordinating dental services and assisting Dentist with patient care
• Assisting Dentist during treatment
• Ensuring all dental equipment is properly maintained
• Maintaining the dental suite in good condition
• Performing administrative tasks such as triage, scheduling, and managing patient records
• Taking and developing x-rays
• Assisting with dental laboratory functions

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED certificate
• Maintain the proper training and unrestricted certification as a Dental Assistant in WY
• Active BLS CPR Certification (AHA required)
• Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
• Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds
• Display integrity, professionalism, and adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
• Pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand for long periods
• Lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds)
• Bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances
• Perform physically demanding tasks like CPR
• Maintain good balance and endurance throughout a shift
