Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide knowledgeable assistance to the treating dentist.
- Assume responsibility for initial dental laboratory needs.
- Maintain diagnostic and treatment records.
- Perform and/or conduct a variety of routine and non-routine technical procedures while providing direct chair-side assistance to the treating dentist.
- Takes intra-oral, and pantographic x-ray films of dental patients at the direction of the treating dentist.
- Places and removes temporary crowns, takes dental impressions, and places dental and conditioning materials at the direction of the treating dentist.
- Performs required laboratory work, trims and pours diagnostic models, fabricates temporaries, baseplates and templates for crown and bridge work, writes laboratory prescription, prepares models for mailing to outside laboratory technicians.
- Regular and prompt attendance at work.
- Clean and maintain equipment used in procedures.
- Maintain organized tray set-up for the treating dentist.
- Assure the sterile condition of rooms.
Qualifications
- Certificate as a Dental Assistant from a college or technical school.
- X-ray Certification (Required).
- Customer service experience.
- Three-six months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience (Preferred).
