Dental Assistant
Lumina Healthcare is seeking a Full-Time Mobile Dental Assistant to join our progressive mobile dental practice in the Glendale, AZ area. Qualified candidates will travel by company van to multiple facilities within a designated territory. $500 retention bonus payable after 90 days in good standing.
About the Role
Responsible for preparing clinical cart and supplies for the day’s schedule, driving a company vehicle to various healthcare facilities, assisting the dentist with setup and cleanup, and maintaining equipment and records.
Responsibilities
- Prepare clinical cart and supplies for the day’s schedule
- Drive company vehicle to and from healthcare facilities
- Check in with Social Services upon arrival at each facility
- Provide check-in and check-out forms to facility staff
- Communicate and interact with facility staff as needed
- Verify patient identification prior to treatment
- Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
- Ask about the patient’s medical history and take blood pressure/pulse at the doctor’s request
- Implement infection control protocols, prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
- Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment
- Explain post-treatment oral care instructions (e.g., after surgery or restoration placement)
- Provide oral hygiene instructions
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
- Complete Patient Summary and other reports legibly and accurately
- Order supplies as needed
- Load and transport equipment, supplies, lab cases, and charts to and from facilities
- Verify all equipment, instruments, and supplies are accounted for before exiting each facility
- Maintain cleanliness, inventory levels, and organization of mobile carts and units daily
- Ensure chart/record security while at facilities and during transit
- Handle and account for lab cases as needed
- Maintain and operate the company vehicle in a clean and safe manner according to company policies
- Participate in all required company training
- Perform only duties permitted by the scope of your licensure as a Dental Assistant
Requirements
- Dental Certificate and X-ray Certification required
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Knowledge of dental instruments, procedures, sterilization, and infection control
- Familiarity with basic computer usage for online training, patient records, and email
- Able to lift 75 pounds of dental equipment to carry into and out of facilities and the corporate office
- One year of experience as a dental assistant preferred but willing to train
Schedule
- Weekday commitment; no call or weekends
- Available for frequent overtime due to varied travel distances
Work Environment
- Frequent standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods
- Frequent bending and reaching
- Frequent driving/travel in a company van
- Requires visual and hearing acuity
- Gross motor skills required
