Dental Assistant

Key Responsibilities

• Aid dentists during various treatments such as exams, restorations, and surgeries.
• Prepares patients for procedures by explaining steps and ensuring their comfort.
• Ensures proper sterilization and maintenance of dental instruments and equipment.
• Takes and develops dental radiographs as needed.
• Maintains accurate patient records, including medical histories and treatment notes.
• Organizes dental materials, instruments, and trays for procedures.
• Efficiently manages appointment scheduling and patient flow.
• Ensures cleanliness and organization of treatment rooms.
• Assists with inventory management and ordering dental supplies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Completed certification or diploma in Dental Assisting from a recognized institution.
• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar clinical role.
• Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and sterilization techniques.
• Familiarity with dental software and patient management systems.
• Strong understanding of infection control and safety standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Effective teamwork and organizational abilities.
• High attention to detail.
• Basic computer proficiency.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with digital radiography and imaging systems.
• Radiology certification (if required by local regulations).
• Understanding of dental insurance processes and billing.
• Experience assisting in specialized procedures (orthodontics, oral surgery, etc.).
• Multilingual communication skills.
• Familiarity with advanced dental technologies and tools.
• CPR/BLS certification.
