Dental Assistant

About the Role

Matthews Family Dentistry is seeking a motivated, patient-focused Dental Assistant for accelerated Hygiene to join our growing practice in Matthews, NC. This role supports our hygienist and ensures a smooth, efficient patient experience in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist hygienist during patient care and periodontal procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms before and after patient appointments
• Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays)
• Review and update medical histories and patient records
• Provide patient education on oral hygiene and preventive care
• Maintain inventory and stock hygiene treatment rooms
• Ensure compliance with infection control and OSHA guidelines
• Take impressions, scans, or intraoral photos
• Schedule recall and follow-up appointments
• Confirm treatment plans and patient understanding

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of active dental assisting experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
• Experience supporting dental hygienists preferred
• Knowledge of dental software and digital radiography is a plus

Pay

Starting pay of $19 per hour or higher, depending on experience, plus a monthly bonus.
