Dental Assistant

Job Summary

This is a full-time, traveling Pediatric & Orthodontic Dental Assistant position available in Northglenn and Brighton. The role requires a reliable car due to the approximately 20-30 minute drive between locations.

Responsibilities

• Set up kid-friendly trays and orthodontic bonding stations quickly
• Capture digital x-rays, photos, and impressions for accurate records
• Pass tools for fillings, brackets, and sealants; handle suction, materials, and additional duties (polishing, ligating if certified)
• Greet patients with genuine warmth using "tell-show-do" techniques, toys, and calming methods to ease fears
• Monitor patient comfort during nitrous oxide administration and track orthodontic progress
• Ace handoffs following the G.A.P. style to ensure smooth transitions
• Apply sealants, fluoride treatments, and SDF; demonstrate flossing techniques around wires via fun demonstrations and educational materials
• Teach eruption timelines, habit corrections, and retainer usage to maintain healthy smiles
• Prepare and adjust orthodontic bonds, fix protruding wires, and update patient charts
• Manage insurance verifications and inventory; balance pediatric and orthodontic schedules
• Send reminders to boost follow-up appointments

Requirements

• Current CO Dental Assistant license (or equivalent RDA/EFDA license)
• One year of experience in pediatric and orthodontic dentistry with x-ray certification
• Reliable transportation for site travel
• Bubbly personality to engage with children
• Spanish language skills are a plus
