Dental Assistant

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Affords assistance to patients as directed by dentists and in compliance with state regulations.
• Prepares patients, sets up instrument trays, and prepares necessary materials.
• Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of clinic instruments, instrument trays, and equipment, adhering to established protocols for sterilization, maintenance, and cleaning.
• Takes, develops, and inserts x-rays in patient files using Dentrix.
• Schedules follow-up appointments to ensure completion of treatment plans and upcoming recall visits.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification required.
• Dental Assistant certification preferred.
• Knowledge of dental office computer applications is beneficial.
• Computer skills to input data into Dentrix.
• Ability to learn and understand dental terminology.
• Effective communication skills with the dental team and patients.
• Bilingualism is advantageous.
