Pay
$25–$32/hour, based on experience.
Schedule
- Monday: 7:30 am–2:30 pm
- Tuesday: 12:30 pm–7:30 pm
- Wednesday: 7:30 am–2:30 pm
- Thursday: 12:30 pm–7:30 pm
- Friday: 7:30 am–3:30 pm
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties
- Assist dentist chairside during examination and treatment of a variety of procedures
- Provide a 10-star patient experience
- Prepare instruments and materials for the dentist for upcoming procedures
- Provide direct patient care in all dental services, including restorative, ortho, pediatric, endo, periodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery
- Pass dental instruments between provider and assistant (4-handed dentistry)
- Make patients as comfortable as possible in the chair while preparing them for treatment
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and operatories post-treatment
- Instruct patients on pre- and post-operative procedures and provide oral health education
- Obtain dental radiographs and intra-oral scans/photos
- Keep treatment records such as charting existing restorations as well as planned treatment
- Monitor daily supplies for restocking
- Assist dentist in providing patients with instructions for care post-treatment procedures
Requirements
- Six months of dental-assistant experience
- Active Washington state dental assistant registration number
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal, customer service, and written communication skills
- Clinical knowledge, skills, and patient-care experience
- Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks when appropriate
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
Preferred: coronal polishing certificate.
