Dental Assistant

About the role

Under the dentist's supervision, Dental Assistants perform medical and administrative skills to dental caregivers and supporting patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist with performing assessments and treatments.
• Perform diagnostic radiographs.
• Obtain alginate impressions for diagnostic and/or intra-oral appliances.
• Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned.
• Maintain dental equipment and medical supplies including sterilizing instruments, reordering, stocking, cleaning and troubleshooting.
• Maintain examination areas.
• Work in clinical and operating room settings as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• State certified as a Dental Assistant Radiographer
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
• Knowledge and understanding of the dental management of medically compromised patients to include cardiology, oncology, hematology, and infectious disease patients

Qualifications

• Two years of dental assisting experience

Skills

• Manual dexterity to pass instrumentation, hand mix impression material and stone / plaster, use applicator gun to express impression gun, trimming casts as well as operate PC.

Pay

• Minimum hourly: $16.47
• Maximum hourly: $23.61
