Dental Assistant

About the Role

Supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the Arizona dental standards. Responsibilities

• Assists the doctor in procedures
• Takes x-rays and intraoral (IO) photos
• Assists in prophylaxis cleaning of teeth
• Instructs patients on oral hygiene
• Charts cavities and teeth with the doctor
• Sterilizes instruments
• Sets up, breaks down, and prepares rooms for treatment/hygiene
• Charts patient’s treatment and treatment plan with the doctor

Requirements

• Certification from a dental college or three to six months of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred)
• Arizona X-Ray certification
• Current BLS certification
• Arizona Coronal Polish certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Arizona Sealant certification
