Dental Assistant

About the role

The Dental Assistant supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; and performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act. Responsibilities

• Assists the doctor in procedures
• Takes x-rays and intraoral (IO) photos
• Assists in prophylaxis cleaning of teeth
• Instructs patients on oral hygiene
• Charts cavities and teeth with the doctor
• Sterilizes instruments
• Sets up, breaks down, and prepares rooms for treatment/hygiene
• Charts patient's treatment and treatment plan with the doctor
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Certification from a dental college or three to six months of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred)
• X-Ray certification
• BLS certification
• 8-hour Infection Control certification
• 2-hour Dental Practice Act certification

Pay

$18.00 to $22.00 per hour (based on experience)
