Dental Assistant

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Provides chair-side assistance to dental providers in all phases of restorative, prosthodontic, surgical, endodontic, pediatric and periodontic treatment as provided in general dentistry. Has clinic maintenance and record keeping duties.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Completed an Accredited Dental Assisting course or 1 year of dental chairside experience
• Dental Assistant National Board Certificate (CDA) preferred but not required
• Self-starter, able to work without direct supervision
• Knowledge of dental instruments and medical/dental terminology
• Basic computer skills
• Complete Indian Health Service (his) x-ray competency evaluation
• Provide age-specific care to patients of all age levels
• Pay attention to detail and assume responsibility for tasks assigned.
