Dental Assistant
Key Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures, including restorative, surgical, endodontic, and periodontal treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain equipment
- Record patient medical/dental histories and document procedures accurately
- Take dental radiographs and assist with minor equipment maintenance
- Perform intra-oral duties such as impressions, suture removal, and placement of dental materials (as directed)
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Schedule patients and manage workflow using Dentrix/MHS Genesis systems
- Support lab tasks such as pouring and trimming models
Qualifications
- Candidates must meet one of the following:
- CODA-accredited dental assisting program + 12 months recent experience
- Military dental assistant training + 12 months recent experience
- Red Cross Dental Assistant certification + 12 months recent experience
- 36 months recent dental assisting experience (private or military setting)
- Active AADA membership + required experience
- Recent graduate (within 12 months) of a state-accredited dental program

- Strong attention to detail, organization, and multitasking ability
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and dental software systems
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Prolonged standing or sitting
- Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling
