About the role

Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless has been dedicated to serving people experiencing homelessness since 1985. Our mission is to provide a continuum of integrated care through outreach and site-based services addressing the health-related causes and consequences of homelessness. Our vision is to live in a world free of homelessness, believing that it can be solved through access to quality health care, affordable housing, and a living wage.

Responsibilities

Our Dental Assistant team works in rotating schedules, engaging in both Outreach work in the field and in our Clinic. We operate under a harm reduction model, connecting patients to various resources within our organization and beyond. The team is passionate about public health and our population.

Requirements

- Background in medical or dental (MA, CNA, DA, etc) - High School Diploma or GED - Flexibility to work with multiple providers - Ability to thrive in a complex healthcare setting

Preferred Qualifications

- Graduation from an accredited dental assistant program with current X-ray certification - Experience working with underserved populations or people experiencing homelessness - Knowledge of harm reduction and trauma-informed philosophies - Bilingual or Spanish-speaking
