Dental Assistant Apprentice
About the role
The HHM Apprenticeship Program is designed to help individuals start their careers in healthcare. It includes hands-on training from experts, virtual classroom instruction, and mentorship from an internal preceptor. Upon completion, participants will become certified Dental Assistants.
Responsibilities
- Aid dental providers with patient preparation and dental procedures.
- Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including scheduling and documentation.
- Maintain and organize patient medical records and ensure confidentiality.
- Support infection control and safety protocols within the clinical environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients to provide instructions and answer basic questions.
- Adhere to healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work and learn on a full-time basis, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5 pm (1 hour lunch).
- Basic knowledge of dental terminology and healthcare environment experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer/patient engagement skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Ability to work in the N. Dallas and Mesquite areas.
- Ability to commit to continue employment with HHM for a minimum of two (2) years after completing the Apprenticeship Program.
