About the role

Under close supervision from faculty dentists, dental residents or higher-level dental assistants, performs duties in support of dental office and operatory functions.

Responsibilities

• Seating the patient
• Taking and developing x-rays
• Absorbing fluids and handing instruments during treatment
• Cleaning and sterilizing instruments and trays
• Setting up operatory prior to treatment
• Cleaning up operatory after treatment
• Answering phones
• Making appointments
• Maintaining patient records
• Maintaining supply inventory

Requirements

• Experience in dental office practices and procedures and routine chairside assisting
• Current Basic Life Support

Preferred Qualifications

• Performs other related duties as required

Qualifications

• Education/experience/licensing: Experience in dental office practices and procedures and routine chairside assisting. Courses in dental offices practices and clinical procedures may be used in lieu of experience. Current Basic Life Support.
