Density Technician/Laborer

Responsibilities

• Work with hot mix asphalt (HMA) by raking and shoveling.
• Essential crew member for the application of asphalt on highways, private roadways, parking lots, and driveways using handheld tools.
• Partner with other crew members to pave roadways according to plan specifications.
• Perform tasks of other positions as instructed by the crew foreman to ensure daily schedules and estimates are met.
• Shovel dirt, asphalt, or stone and sweep areas associated with heavy highway construction.
• Use power and/or hand tools needed to complete jobs within specifications.
• Adapt and work in extreme weather temperatures.
• Strict adherence to safety requirements, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) policies.
• Understand and perform tasks to meet density requirements including PWL.

Requirements

• CDL license preferred.
• 1 or more years of road construction experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• This position requires time spent walking, standing, bending, lifting, and sitting.

Work Environment

This position will work outdoors on a job site in extreme weather conditions.
