About the role

This 3-year PhD position is part of the project DUDE (Data Uncertainty and Design/Reconstruction Errors), headed by Prof. Per Christian Hansen. The focus is on analyzing the influence of data errors in iterative solvers for inverse problems such as computed tomography and image deblurring.

The goal is to establish a solid understanding of how data errors propagate in iterative regularization methods, especially CGLS and GMRES, and to interpret these methods within the framework of computational uncertainty quantification.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on the propagation of data errors in iterative solvers for inverse problems.
  • Collaborate with two postdocs in the Section for Scientific Computing.
  • Make limited contributions to teaching/training activities and supervision of students.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a strong background in scientific computing, numerical analysis, or a related field relevant to inverse problems and iterative methods.
