Demolition Crew Leader

SA Recycling – South Texas Region is seeking an Offsite Demolition Lead Man for our Brownsville, TX facility.

Responsibilities

• Lead the crew by assigning and coordinating daily work activities.
• Support the Foreman/Supervisor in managing workflow, schedules, and productivity.
• Work alongside the crew and perform the same job duties as needed.
• Identify and resolve routine job-site issues; escalate major concerns promptly.
• Ensure all employees follow company policies, safety procedures, and wear required PPE.
• Monitor work quality and ensure tasks are completed correctly and on schedule.
• Train, mentor, and assist new and existing employees.
• Promote teamwork, professionalism, and accountability.
• Report safety hazards, equipment issues, injuries, and incidents immediately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Champion core values: Health & Safety First, Proactive, Accountability, Teamwork, Continuous Improvement.
• Maintain OSHA requirements, work rules, and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with service providers to ensure efficient, cost-effective preventive maintenance.
• Comply with all applicable federal, state, local, and SA Recycling safety, health, and environmental rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

• Must pass a medical physical and drug test.
• Must pass a background check and credit check.
• Preferred: high school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable.
• Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively, understand direction (written or oral), and use basic math skills as the job demands.
• Understanding of the metal market to negotiate pricing, delivery process, and production demands.
• Possess interpersonal skills to gain support of workforce and clientele when conducting business.
• 3-5 years minimum experience in supervising others.
• Experience in demolition including the use of tools and equipment.

• Work Environment: Office and scrap metal yard.
• Equipment & Tools: Office equipment, general tools, and training with mobile equipment.
• Physical Demand Level: Light to moderate, including lifting and carrying 35lb loads, head turning, bending.

• Hand Movements: Repetitive motions, typing.
