Demand Planner
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Demand Planner who thrives in a rapidly growing business and can translate customer forecasts into a robust Demand Plan that serves as the foundation of our Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process. In this role, you’ll be a core part of Integrated Planning, collaborating closely with fellow Demand Planners and Supply Planners to deliver aligned, data-driven plans. Success is achieved through strong cross-functional partnership and the ability to work effectively across teams to drive alignment, improve forecast accuracy, and support business growth.
Your demand plan guides key financial and operational decisions, supports near-term planning cycles, and informs long-range planning over the next three years. As our business evolves, you embrace ambiguity, collaborate with others, and develop solutions to new and unfamiliar challenges.
Success Factors (First 12–24 Months)
- Cross-Functional Partnership & Teamwork: Build strong, trusted relationships across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations. Actively collaborate across teams to align assumptions, resolve risks and opportunities, and drive consensus on the demand plan.
- S&OP Process Leadership: Guide the Sales team through the S&OP process with clarity and energy. Schedule and facilitate pre-demand planning meetings focused on customer-level forecasts. Partner across functions to gain alignment on the forecast and ensure the demand plan remains current through documented assumptions and updates.
- Managing S&OP Product Families: Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to identify risks and opportunities and set realistic expectations about what the business can deliver. Drive alignment across teams to achieve world-class forecast accuracy at the S&OP family level. Maintain system accuracy and ensure timely communication across the supply chain.
- Customer & Channel Expertise: Develop deep knowledge of our customer base and work closely with Sales and Marketing to shape demand. Provide insights and partnership for new opportunities or promotions. Become the subject matter expert on customer demand drivers, lead times, and channel dynamics.
- Scenario Planning & Analytics: Develop multiple demand scenarios (low, medium, and high) using statistical analysis, historical shipment trends, and key business assumptions. Translate data into clear insights and facilitate cross-functional discussions that support informed decision-making.
- Metrics & Continuous Improvement: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and forecast accuracy metrics to drive continuous improvement. Identify exceptions, partner with stakeholders to address root causes, and implement adjustments to improve performance across items, regions, and customers.
