About the Role

We're looking for a Demand Planner to take the lead on wholesale/retail and ecommerce demand planning for some of the most exciting brands in the beauty space. You'll sit at the intersection of Sales, Marketing, New Product Development, and Operations, ensuring the forecast reflects the full picture of the business. This role is for someone equally comfortable in commercial conversations and deep in spreadsheets, with strong analytical skills (including AI-assisted forecasting), cross-functional instincts, and commercial intuition.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Forecast
    • Build and maintain a monthly item-level forecast across all geographies, key wholesale accounts, and retail banners, incorporating POS trends, seasonality, promotional calendars, ranging changes, and account team insights.
    • Track retail inventory positions, weeks-of-supply, and sell-out velocity at the account and door level to stay ahead of demand.
    • Partner with the Sales team to align sell-in timing with real retail demand.
  • Be the New Launch Hype Person (With a Spreadsheet)
    • Lead cross-functional planning for new product launches, coordinating with New Product Development, Marketing, and Sales on timing, campaign-driven demand, and retailer ranging commitments.
    • Own SKU transitions and range changes end-to-end, ensuring retailer satisfaction, minimizing write-off risk, and avoiding last-minute scrambles.
  • Partner With the Commercial Team
    • Embed yourself with Retail Account Managers and the Growth Team to integrate their insights into the forecast and communicate back in a way that aligns the team.
    • Work with Marketing to ensure campaign calendars, launch windows, and media investments are reflected in the forecast.
    • Translate Sales insights from retailers into actionable supply plans for Operations.
  • Scenario Planning & Smart Decision Support
    • Run ad-hoc scenario planning for new distribution, pricing moves, market changes, or demand swings, turning ambiguity into actionable options.
    • Bring a forward-looking demand perspective to cross-functional conversations to anticipate rather than react.
  • Keep Operations Humming
    • Deliver clean, well-documented forecast packages to Operations Planning for executive review, summarizing changes, rationale, and supply implications.
    • Act as the go-to liaison during inventory tightness or excess, helping triage wholesale account priorities and align stakeholders.
    • Support NetSuite demand planning integration and identify process improvements or automation opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 4–6 years in demand planning, commercial analytics, or S&OP in consumer goods, with wholesale and/or specialty retail channel experience.
  • Deep expertise in building retail sell-in forecasts and understanding how sell-through, retailer inventory, and reorder patterns drive upstream demand.
  • Proven ability to work effectively across Sales, Marketing, Product Development, and Operations, fostering productive relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills, including hands-on experience with AI-assisted forecasting tools and advanced Excel. POS data analysis and statistical modeling experience is a bonus.
  • NetSuite experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to distill complex forecasts for commercial audiences.
  • Comfortable working across time zones and geographies.

Who You Are

  • You have commercial instinct—you assess numbers not just for accuracy but for whether they make sense given the brand, account, season, and market.
  • A natural cross-functional collaborator who builds trust with Sales, Marketing, NPD, and Ops, and isn’t afraid to ask hard questions.
  • Detail-obsessed but not detail-paralyzed; you balance strategic thinking with meticulous data scrutiny.
  • You thrive in fast-moving, dynamic environments and make decisions with available information, adjusting as needed.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, knowing when to loop others in and when to handle things independently.
  • You bring positive energy, making the team sharper, more fun, and more capable.
