Deltek Costpoint Consultant, Industry Specialty Services
About the role
As the Deltek Costpoint Manager in Industry Specialty Services, you will actively convert client requirements into a pitch-perfect system through participation in Costpoint implementations, collaborative relationships with the project team’s consultants, positive interaction with the client, and support in ERP consulting, ancillary systems, and integrations.
Responsibilities
- Supports the design of ERP implementations for Deltek Costpoint using the BDO framework to assume responsibility for project phases and work directly with clients to accomplish objectives.
- Oversees various technology integrations leveraging specific system(s) knowledge.
- Performs implementation engagements, both independently and collaboratively.
- Interprets corporate and entity-level (Federal, non-profit, etc.) compliance as it relates to ERP and technology.
- Participates in business development meetings, develops client relationships, and engages in networking activities.
- Actively contributes to the continuous improvement of BDO’s Deltek Practice.
- Collaborates with teammates on current software tools and Industry Specialty Services methodology.
- Reviews and evaluates work prepared by teammates when appropriate or as directed.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (required); MBA or MPAcc (preferred).
- Six or more years of combined, relevant experience in accounting and system-focused knowledge (required).
- Experience with Government contracting, nonprofit, and other highly regulated industries (preferred).
- Familiarity with ERP and technology implementation best practices (preferred).
- CPA, CMA, or PMP certification (preferred).
- ERP or technology certifications (preferred).
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (required).
- Expertise in Deltek Costpoint (required).
- Experience with IBM Cognos (required).
- Familiarity with other ERP solutions such as Unanet, Jamis, Oracle Fusion, Procas (preferred).
- Experience with additional database management or analytical tools (SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI) (preferred).
- Thorough understanding of Costpoint fundamentals—Project, Account, and Org—and their configuration.
- Proficient in Deltek Costpoint across multiple domains (two or more, including control screens).
- Grasp of data mapping and conversion basics.
- Knowledge of and experience complying with Government Contracting rules, regulations, and contract-specific requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in business and report writing.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to meet project deadlines and focus on details.
- Ability to multi-task successfully while working independently or within a group environment.
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to follow and apply specific rules and regulations.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Pay
Individual salaries are determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. The national salary range for this role is $115,000 – $155,000. Specific ranges for Maryland and NYC/Long Island/Westchester are also $115,000 – $155,000.
