About the role

As a Delivery Technician at Accendra Health, you will deliver durable medical equipment to Apria patients in their homes. This role is essential in ensuring patients receive the care and equipment they need beyond traditional healthcare settings.

Responsibilities

  • Pulls, packs, delivers, and picks up medications, supplies, and basic equipment.
  • Instructs patients on the basic use of respiratory therapy equipment, durable medical equipment, oxygen equipment, and other equipment/services approved by state licensure limitations.
  • Loads and unloads durable medical and infusion equipment onto the delivery vehicle.
  • Responds to emergency delivery calls as needed during regular business hours and on an on-call basis.
  • Completes necessary paperwork, including daily delivery logs, pick-up and delivery forms, and vehicle maintenance logs. Distributes paperwork to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintains the supply component of patient profiles.
  • Notifies supervisor of any unsafe conditions in the patient's home, such as physical abuse, unsanitary conditions, insufficient food for children, or animals causing unsanitary conditions.
  • May clean and assist with the repair of equipment.
  • Performs routine vehicle maintenance, including checking gasoline, oil fluids, tire pressure, and brakes. Reports malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma is required.
  • At least one year of related experience is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older at the time of hire.
  • Minimum of three years driving history required.
  • Successful completion of Apria Healthcare's Driver Training Program.
  • Must meet job-related requirements to comply with D.O.T., F.D.A., and standards of accrediting bodies.
  • English language proficiency (reading, writing, verbal).

Physical Demands

  • Regular use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear.
  • Use of computer, telephone, hand-held devices, document imaging systems, and manipulation of documents.
  • Regular reading of documents and transcription of accurate information and numbers/values.
  • Frequent talking and hearing required.
  • Frequent variations in physical activities including sitting, walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, or stooping.
  • Possession and maintenance of a valid driver’s license specific to the vehicle operated.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, night (low to limited light) vision, and the ability to adjust focus for computer work and reading documents.
  • Strength Aspects:
    • Frequently stand and lift objects from 1” to 36” high with weights ranging from 10 lbs to 100 lbs, and carry objects for distances ranging from 1 ft to 350 ft, including travel up and down stairs or in elevators.
    • Frequently push or pull objects weighing from 20 lbs to 60 lbs, up and down stairs, through doorways and thresholds, using dollies or carts, or on flat or angled surfaces. Distances pushed or pulled could range from 1-25 ft on average.
    • Frequently grip objects with hands, up to 15 lbs of force.
    • Frequently grip objects with fingers, up to 10 lbs of force.
  • Body Position and Flexibility Elements:
    • Frequently climb 100 stairs on average ranging from 3”-10” in height, and step in and out of company vehicles ranging up to 20” in height.
    • Occasionally climb ladders up to 10’ high.
    • Frequently bend down at the waist to a torso level of 24” above the floor.
    • Frequently reach, on average, 20” away from the body.
    • Occasionally kneel on one or both knees and squat to perform tasks.

Pay

The anticipated salary range for this position is $17.64 - $18.86 per hour. The actual compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, education, and location.
