Delivery Specialist (Medical Equipment)

THE POSITION

Acts as trainer and resource for Service Specialist staff, supporting Dispatcher role as needed.

Responsible for delivering and picking up patient supplies and equipment to/from their homes in accordance with all policies and procedures.

Solves daily delivery issues to help the department run smoothly and cost effectively.

Absorbs new and existing staff training, being on-call resource during new hire orientation.

Trains current staff when they are assuming new responsibilities.

Supports Dispatcher as needed, filling in as Dispatcher during PTO/absences.

Assumes on-call duties when coverage issues arise, often on short notice.

Establishes and maintains effective relationships with the patients, families, and caregivers as well as all PHS employees.

Schedules and makes deliveries to patients’ homes in a timely manner.

Confirms delivery and reports potentially unsafe conditions.

Performs and instructs the initial set-up of oxygen and some DME.

Performs data entry functions to log customer visits, conversations and follow-ups.

Collaborates with other departments to coordinate regular maintenance service to company vehicles.

Assists with warehouse duties and equipment processing as needed.

Manages time efficiently and be competent in estimating drive times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 2+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Durable medical equipment (DME) experience preferred.
  • Exceptionally organized, multi-tasking, problem solving and communication and strong keyboard skills.
  • A high level of initiative combined with a customer service mentality is also required.
  • Experience in Brightree EHR a plus!

Qualifications

  • Valid State Driver’s License (must have a clean record).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to use navigation system and follow maps.
  • Basic computer skills including Word and Excel.

Monday-Friday, 8a-5p (rotating on-call)
