Delivery Specialist

About the Role

The Delivery Specialist maintains and operates store vehicles to deliver parts and/or products to professional customers safely and efficiently. This position also handles cash-on-delivery (C.O.D.) collections and picks up customer returns. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles to deliver parts and products to customers safely and efficiently.
• Use delivery fleet management hand-held devices to process deliveries, capture customer signatures, update vehicle mileage, and complete daily vehicle inspections.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, perform daily inspections, and ensure vehicles are secure at all times.
• Secure delivery vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, hand-held devices, and collected monies.
• Pick up customer returns (e.g., new, warranty, cores) and complete driver return slips.
• Communicate customer problems or special needs to store management.
• Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or damage to the store manager immediately.
• Ensure the fuel tank is filled and lock the vehicle at the end of the day.
• Clock in/out according to company policy.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including customer service, stocking, merchandising, handling core returns, and assisting with stock orders.
• Occasionally assist customers, serve as a cashier, or help with merchandising tasks when needed.

Requirements

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing delivery situations.
• Driving record must meet the company’s 14/18-point record system standards.
• Possess a legally required state driver’s license and meet company-mandated driving eligibility requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with automotive parts.
• Ability to operate other light store equipment.
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
