Responsibilities
- Perform bulk and packaged deliveries of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
- Execute proper loading and unloading procedures for various types of materials.
- Complete required documentation and ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Brenntag’s safety standards.
- Operate a tractor, trailer, or service vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.
- Comply with all applicable DOT, OSHA, and site-specific rules and regulations.
- Follow all Brenntag operating procedures and work instructions.
- Operate pallet jacks (electric or manual) and forklifts (if required).
- Operate dock locks, dock levelers, and other applicable equipment for delivery/pickup of material.
- Maintain good housekeeping on the equipment and ensure it is in good working order.
- Communicate with supervisor or dispatcher to receive delivery instructions.
Requirements
- Possess a Class "A" CDL with Tanker, Bulk, and/or Hazmat endorsement.
- Have a current DOT medical card.
- Be able to drive a manual transmission.
- Pass a pre-employment DOT fit-for-duty exam.
- Be able to sit and drive for long hours, step into and out of equipment safely, and perform loading/delivery tasks.
- Be able to lift up to 75 pounds frequently and push/pull or move up to 150 pounds.
- Wear a respirator (if required for role) and all other personal protective equipment.
- Load and unload hazardous material.
- Climb ladders.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or US military experience.
- Prior experience in chemical delivery may be considered if education or service requirements are not fully met.
- Meet all components of driver qualifications (DQ) for employment.
Skills
- Safe and efficient operation of Class 8 tractors and related equipment.
- Proper handling and loading/unloading of various types of materials.
- Compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Brenntag’s safety standards.
- Use of advanced camera and safety systems for compliance purposes.
- Communication and coordination with supervisors and dispatchers.
