Delivery Logistics Driver

About the Role

The Logistics Driver and Coordinator position ensures the safe and timely delivery of materials from the warehouse to job sites. This role assists with coordinating delivery routes, communicating with the warehouse manager and receiving parties, loading and securing materials, and maintaining delivery vehicles and equipment. It is critical for achieving on-time delivery, driving operational efficiency, and representing the Prefabrication Department positively.

Responsibilities

• Manage outbound shipping, including loading trailers and delivering oversized construction materials to job sites (5-7 years of experience required).
• Assist in scheduling outbound shipments to meet job site needs and ensure on-time delivery (5 years of experience required).
• Help job site crews safely unload materials using site equipment.
• Communicate shipping date changes to customers as needed.
• Develop and maintain staging procedures for outbound materials.
• Operate forklifts, Lull-Forklifts, and other equipment to safely load and unload materials (3-4 years of experience required).
• Assist in managing receiving, storage, material handling, and delivery processes.
• Ensure proper labeling, organization, and storage of inventory to support efficient retrieval and minimize handling.
• Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in warehouse operations.
• Follow up on product release delays and provide updates to customers and Production.
• Assist in developing and implementing materials management strategies aligned with production schedules and customer commitments.
• Track and report key logistics metrics.
• Identify and implement process improvements across logistics operations.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures and best practices.
• Safely load and rig shipments to delivery vehicles for safe handling.
• Pre-plan and identify methods to eliminate hazards daily by work task.
• Observe and address unsafe habits and hazards of others.
• Uphold safety as the company’s top priority and support the goal of zero accidents.
• Promote open communication between field and office regarding safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE needs.
• Obtain required safety training as expected by all company personnel.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Relevant experience in logistics, warehousing, or a related field.
• Valid South Carolina Driver’s License required.
• Clean driving background.

Skills

• Ability to drive large vehicles and operate machinery for loading and unloading materials.
• Proficiency in operating forklifts and Lull-Forklifts.
• Experience pulling trailers of all sizes and rigging large materials.
• Positive safety attitude and personal integrity (non-negotiable).
• Proficiency in MRP/ERP systems, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Effective leadership and team collaboration skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication capabilities.
• Skilled in data analysis, reporting, and process optimization.

Physical Requirements

• Travel to various work sites across South Carolina, including multiple-hour trips, exposing the employee to outdoor elements, noise, and the need to stand and walk.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent bending, standing, and sitting.
